Haaland Vs Isak: The Better FPL Pick
The call — Haaland or Isak? My numbers say it isn't close: I project Haaland for around 44 points over the next six gameweeks, and Isak for roughly 25. That's not a gap — that's a chasm. The obvious counter is price. Haaland costs £15.6m, Isak £9.1m, and the £6.5m difference buys you real strength elsewhere in the squad. That's a genuine argument…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Because everything else points one way. Haaland's run of fixtures is favourable: after the opening trip to Liverpool, it's IPS (H), AVL (A), BHA (H), NFO (A) and FUL (H) — the kind of stretch where he doesn't just tick along, he goes massive. On my numbers he's averaging north of seven points a game across the window, and on his day that becomes a double-digit haul that decides your rank. That's why about 7 in 10 managers already own him. He's not a differential; he's the entry fee.
Isak's problem is the road ahead. Liverpool open with Man City at Anfield, then BRE (A), BHA (H), ARS (H), CRY (A) and MUN (H). City and Arsenal in the first four, United at the end — that's a genuinely tough slate for a striker, and it's exactly why my projection for him sits so far below his talent level. Only about 2 in 10 managers own him, so a big Isak week would move you up the ranks — but you're paying for hope, not numbers, and averaging around four points a game isn't what you want from a starting forward.
The honest caveat on Haaland: at £15.6m, blanks hurt twice — once in points, once in the funds he's hoovering up. If he has a quiet fortnight while your cut-price mids fire, you'll feel it. But over six gameweeks, my numbers say the quiet weeks get buried by the hauls.
The call: buy Haaland, and don't overthink it. If you already own him, he's a strong captain option through this run — especially at home to Ipswich and Fulham. Isak is a hold-off until Liverpool's fixtures turn; there's no need to buy into that schedule when the alternative is this clear.
