What the rating actually measures
Your squad is scored against an optimal £100m build for the same gameweek, across five weighted axes:
- Projected points — what our engine expects your XI to score over the next six gameweeks.
- Captaincy — whether your armband is on the right player.
- Template / rank cover — the heavily-owned players you do not have. Missing them is how a green arrow becomes a red one.
- Opening fixtures — how kind the next run is for the players you own.
- Structure & budget — a legal shape, and money not stranded on your bench.
Why you can trust the number
The projections behind it are measured in public: 79% of player scores land within two points per gameweek over a six-week window. That is the whole credential — no tipster, no track record you have to take on faith. See the accuracy record.
The rating is advisory. It is a relative score against an optimal build, not a prediction of your rank — a 90 can have a bad week and a 60 can have a great one.
Before the deadline
FPL does not publish a squad until its gameweek deadline passes, so no rater — ours or anyone else's — can score a team you have not confirmed yet. Come back once the deadline has gone and it will read your side straight away.
