Fulham FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid

This is the version of Fulham FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid from 22 September 2026, kept for the record. The picks and the numbers have moved since. The current version →

The call — Fulham: a shop full of £4.5m tags and not one guaranteed starter Here's the number that matters on this page: four. Every Fulham player worth discussing — keeper, back line, midfield, striker — has started exactly four times, and not one of them is nailed. Marco Silva runs a carousel, and a cheap player who might be on the bench…

One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Which is a shame, because the price tags are exactly what a squad-builder wants to see. Three £4.5m defenders, a £4.5m keeper, midfielders at £5.5m and under. On paper this is the enabler aisle. In practice you're guessing which two of the three defenders start each week, and guessing is not a budget strategy.

The fixtures don't rescue it either. Ipswich away, Hull at home and Coventry away sounds gentle, but our model grades the run as a genuinely tough one for Fulham's goalscorers once Villa away, Newcastle at home and City away land on the other end — and this is one of the league's bluntest attacks anyway, down in the bottom three for goal threat. Gonzalo at £6.0m and Josh King at £5.5m are priced for what they might do on a great day, not what they'll reliably deliver, and neither starts every week. Iwobi's the tempting one — corners, free kicks, in the penalty conversation — but our model still prefers others in this squad ahead of him, and hardly anyone owning him tells you the market has watched the team sheets too.

So where's the actual value? The clean-sheet end. Fulham's defence is respectable — mid-pack rather than leaky — and the fixture run for shutouts is perfectly average, which at £4.5m is all you're asking for. Leno tops our list here for a reason: keepers survive rotation better than anyone else in this squad, he's the cheapest possible route into whatever clean sheets Fulham do keep, and roughly 19 points over the next six from a £4.5m slot is honest work. About 1 in 30 managers own him, so nobody's fighting you for it.

The call: if you need a keeper, buy Leno at £4.5m and think no more about it. Everyone else on this page — the strikers, the mids, even the tempting trio of £4.5m defenders — stays on the shelf until someone, anyone, nails down a shirt. Value that might not play isn't value.
