So let's be clear about which end of this squad the value sits. It's the back. The defence ranks mid-table in our projections and the fixture run for clean sheets is perfectly average — which, at £4.5m across the board for Leno, Robinson, Bassey and Castagne, is all you need. Every one of them is nailed, every one of them has started five of five. Cheap players who actually play: that's the whole business model. Robinson carries a bit extra on top because he's on penalties, which is a strange and wonderful thing for a £4.5m defender and worth something in a tight month.
The attack is where the romance goes to die. Josh King and Iwobi project respectably for mid-price midfielders, and Iwobi takes everything — free kicks, corners, a share of penalties — but you're buying into the league's 18th-ranked attack against that fixture list. Gonzalo at £6.0m is priced for a ceiling this run of games won't let him reach. If you want a Fulham midfielder as a punt, Iwobi is the one, owned by basically nobody, but understand you're betting on set pieces, not open play.
The honest caveat: an "average" clean-sheet outlook isn't a great one, and Villa away, Newcastle and City in the back half of the run will test it. The value here is concentrated in the first three fixtures — Ipswich, Hull, Coventry — and that's where you cash it.
The call: buy Leno at £4.5m — hardly anyone owns him, he's the best-projected asset at the club, and he never misses a minute. Pair him with Robinson if you need a fifth defender who starts. Leave the Fulham attack alone until the fixtures turn.
