Brighton & Hove Albion FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Brighton: the value is at the back, and it's not even close Our model has Brighton down as the sharpest attack in the league over this run and the second-meanest defence — and the fixtures are the reason: Sunderland away, Palace at home, then Brentford and Hull to finish. Yes, Liverpool and City away sit in the middle of that…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

So who carries it? The tables above have the numbers. What they can't tell you is where the value actually sits, and the answer is the back line — specifically De Cuyper. A defender priced under five million who's on corners, projected to score like a mid-price midfielder, and started five of six? That's the whole business model of this column in one player. About 1 in 4 managers already own him, so he's not a secret, but he's still criminally cheap for what he does.
Groß is the ceiling play. He's on penalties, free kicks and corners — the full set — and projects the biggest haul of anyone at the club over the next six. If you've got the extra million, he's the one who can go big on his day. Just about 1 in 4 have him too.
Now the deadpan bit, because there has to be one: nobody at Brighton is properly nailed. This is a club that rotates like it's contractually obliged to. Five starts from six is as safe as it gets here, and that's what De Cuyper, Groß and Verbruggen offer. Verbruggen at £4.5m is a perfectly sensible keeper given the clean-sheet outlook, if that's your gap. The deeper bargains — Boscagli, Kadıoğlu — are starting more often than not, but you're one teamsheet surprise from a bench headache. And leave Struijk alone entirely; one start in six is not a floor, it's a trapdoor.
What changes the call? A rough result against Liverpool or City followed by heavy rotation. Short of that, this is a team worth double-covering.
The call: buy De Cuyper — best pound-for-pound defender on the market right now. Groß alongside him if the budget stretches. Everything else Brighton is optional.
