Brighton & Hove Albion FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Every dead ball at Brighton runs through one man, and he costs £5.7m. Penalties, free kicks, corners — the set-piece table below reads like a Pascal Groß tribute page. In a game where cheap midfielders usually mean "hope he falls over in the box," a nailed starter on every dead ball at that price is the sort of value I…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

The backdrop matters: our model rates Brighton the sharpest attack in the league right now, and top-four for keeping the ball out at the other end, with a genuinely kind run ahead. Yes, kind — even with ARS (H), LIV (A) and MCI (A) in there, because SUN (A), CRY (H) and BRE (H) are the fixtures where the points get made, and Brighton are good enough now that the big three aren't write-offs.
Groß is the buy. Roughly nine points a week over the next six on our projections, only about 2 in 10 managers own him, and he starts every game. That's the full house: minutes, set pieces, price. The honest caveat is he's not a striker — his big weeks come from assists and the odd penalty, so he's more steady accumulator than captaincy material.
At the back, the value gets silly. De Cuyper at £4.9m is the popular route in — nailed, on corners, decent attacking involvement for a defender. But look further down the table: Boscagli at £4.5m starts every week, sits in a top-four defence, and almost nobody owns him. Vuskovic is the same story at £5.0m. Kadıoğlu is the one I'd skip — three starts against four for the others, and a defender who rotates is a defender who costs you clean sheets. Verbruggen at £4.5m is a perfectly sensible keeper if you need one.
Diego Gomez at £5.0m is the tempting shiny thing, and my usual question applies: does he see 90 minutes when it's 1-0 with twenty to go? He's starting now, but Groß gets you more for 70p extra with none of the doubt.
The call: buy Groß, and if you're doubling up, take Boscagli over the pricier defensive options. Save the difference for the other end of your squad — that's what Brighton are for.
