Brighton & Hove Albion FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Brighton over the next six: buy the man on everything, ignore the shiny stuff Here's the thing the table can't tell you: Pascal Groß is first in the queue for penalties, free kicks AND corners at a club our model rates the sharpest attack in the league. A £5.8m midfielder who starts every week and touches every dead ball is…

The run isn't spotless, mind. Sunderland away and Palace at home are lovely, but Liverpool and City away sit in the middle of it before Brentford and Hull soften the finish. That's why the value here sits at both ends rather than all-in on attack — our model also ranks Brighton's defence second-meanest in the league, and the clean-sheet picture through that run is genuinely kind outside the two big away days.
Which brings us to the cheap end, where I live. De Cuyper at £5.0m is the defender to own — nailed, on corners, and projected for a tidy 30-odd points across the six. Verbruggen at £4.5m is a perfectly honest keeper for the money if you need one. Diego Gomez is the sneaky one: £5.0m, starting every week, barely 4 in 10... no, barely 1 in 25 managers own him, and he's projected for solid returns without the price tag. Kostoulas up front is the romance pick at £5.6m — the kind of forward people buy for what he might do, with 4 starts from 5 so far. I'd want to see him nailed through those tougher weeks before paying for the dream.
The honest other side: two of these six fixtures are Anfield and the Etihad, and clean sheets there are a coin you shouldn't count on. Bench your Brighton defenders those weeks if you can; the attack travels better than the back line.
The call: buy Groß now, before the Sunderland and Palace openers do his marketing for him. De Cuyper is the defensive route in if you'd rather spend £5.0m than £5.8m — but given the choice of one, it's Groß, every day of the week. The man takes everything. Buy.
