Brentford FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Brentford: same six fixtures, two different answers Here's the oddity our projections keep spitting out about Brentford: the same six games — Villa away, Liverpool at home, Hull, Forest, Brighton, Everton — read as a tough run for their attack and a very kind one for clean sheets. That tells you exactly which end of this squad your money should…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

And that suits me fine, because the value here was always at the back. Brentford sit around sixth in the league at both ends by our numbers, but the attackers are priced for their good days while the defenders are priced like nobody's looked. Kelleher tops our list for the whole club — a £5.0m keeper behind a mean defence with a friendly run, owned by fewer than 1 in 10, projected to out-score both Schade and Thiago over the next six. Ajer at £4.5m is the same story a row down: hardly anyone owns him, he's been starting, and he's the sort of enabler who pays for the shiny stuff elsewhere in your team.
The honest caveat, and it's the one I always ask: who's getting hooked on 60? Nobody at Brentford is what I'd call nailed. Kelleher, Ajer, Schade and Thiago have all started five of the recent stretch, which is decent but not a promise — and Schuster, the other £4.5m defender, has only two starts, so don't be tempted by the twin. Kayode's been in and out too. Ajer is the cheap defender actually playing; buy that one.
On the attack: Thiago has penalties and Schade sits second in that queue, which is real upside — but a tough run of opponents plus prices of £7.8m and £6.2m means you're paying for their best week, not their normal one. Usually good for 3-4 through this stretch, capable of more, but there are cheaper routes to the same points.
What changes the call? Kelleher or Ajer dropping out of the XI for two straight weeks — then walk away, cheap players who don't play are worth nothing.
The call: buy into Brentford through the back — Kelleher if you need a keeper, Ajer if you need a body — and leave the forwards until the fixtures turn.
