Start with Kelleher. A £5.0m keeper who starts every week behind one of the league's meanest defences, heading into a run with Hull away, Forest at home, Brighton away and Everton at home scattered through it — that's clean-sheet money, and barely 1 in 2 of 10 managers own him. Ajer is the same argument for £4.5m: nailed, cheap, almost nobody has him, and he's exactly the sort of starter who funds a premium elsewhere without ever blanking his way out of your XI. That's what value looks like. Kayode's cheaper-defender appeal is slightly diluted by one fewer start, and Schuster has only started twice — ignore the price, minutes are the currency.
The attack is trickier. Schade is the one Brentford forward-liner our model still backs — nailed, on penalties as backup, and usually good for 4-5 a week with the odd big one, which at £6.2m is a fair deal even into Villa and Liverpool. About 1 in 10 own him, so he's no gamble on the template front. Thiago is where I apply the Cheapy test: £7.8m is a price built on what he *could* do, and this run of opponents is precisely when ceilings don't get reached. First on penalties keeps him honest, but you're paying for the good weeks and the fixtures say those are scarce. Janelt and Lewis-Potter both start every week and come dirt cheap — honest fifth-midfielder material, nothing more, and that's not an insult.
The honest caveat: a kind run for clean sheets still includes Liverpool at home and Villa away in the opening two, so don't expect the points to arrive in week one. Patience required.
The call: buy Kelleher or Ajer now — they start, they're cheap, and the fixtures do the rest. Schade if you need a mid-price midfielder. Leave Thiago on the shelf until the fixtures turn.
