Bournemouth FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Bournemouth: a lovely run, and not a single nailed starter to spend it on Here's the itch with Bournemouth: our model likes the fixtures — after Chelsea away it's Sunderland, Leeds, Ipswich and Forest with only a trip to Old Trafford breaking it up — and yet not one player on this page is what you'd call nailed. Four starts…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

So where does the value actually sit? Two places, and they're not the obvious one. The defence is the quieter case — Bournemouth are mid-table for keeping the ball out, but the schedule turns kind, and the model fancies the clean-sheet potential more than the goals. That's why Truffert, Hill and Petrović all project respectably at prices that leave you money for the fun end of your squad. The attack is decent — top-half, seventh in our reckoning — but the fixtures for goals are merely average, and the productive slots are crowded. Evanilson at 6.0 looks like a bargain forward until you notice he's ranked below two midfielders a pound dearer.
The player who clears the noise is Tavernier. Top of our list, on corners, on free kicks, third in the penalty queue — when Bournemouth get anything from a game, the ball tends to go through him. Around 6.1 with only about 1 in 10 managers owning him, he's usually good for 4-5 a week over this run with the odd big one when a set piece drops right. Scott is the same price and same rotation worry with less of the dead-ball portfolio, so the choice between the two isn't really a choice.
The honest caveat: "not nailed" isn't a footnote here, it's the headline. Four starts from four players at every position means Iraola is rotating, and a 6.1 midfielder who sits out one in three fixtures is a 6.1 midfielder you can't rely on. The defenders carry the same asterisk, which takes the shine off an otherwise tidy clean-sheet run.
The call: buy Tavernier, and buy him after the Chelsea trip — Sunderland at home is where this run starts earning. One Bournemouth player, not two; doubling up on a rotating squad is how you end up with two blanks in the same week. Everyone else on this page is a watch, not a buy.
