The quieter story is at the back, and it's where the real value in this squad sits. Bournemouth's defence is mid-pack — twelfth-meanest in our model — but the fixtures do the lifting: after Chelsea away, it's Sunderland at home, Leeds at home, Ipswich away, Forest at home. That's a favourable run for clean sheets, and the cheap end of this defence actually starts. Truffert at £5.4m and Petrović at £4.5m are both nailed and both owned by almost nobody — about 3 in 100 each. A £4.5m keeper who plays every week behind a kind fixture run is exactly the enabler that makes the rest of your squad possible.
The honest caveat: Bournemouth's attack is only seventh-best in our model and the fixture run for goals is merely average, with Chelsea and United away sat in the first three. Evanilson is cheap at £6.0m but projected well below Tavernier — if you're buying one route into this attack, the model's order is clear, and I wouldn't argue with it. Hill projects nicely too, but if you're taking one defender, Truffert edges it on the model's preference.
The shape of it: Bournemouth are worth buying into, but at specific price points, not everywhere. Tavernier is the pick — buy him. If you need a defensive enabler, Truffert or Petrović are starting every week at prices that buy you flexibility elsewhere. Skip the forward line. And if you're waiting for a trigger — don't. The Chelsea trip is the worst fixture of the six; everything after it gets easier. Get in before the Sunderland game, not after it.
