Bournemouth FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Bournemouth over the next six: buy the fixtures, not the romance Here's the awkward truth the tables on this page keep whispering: not one Bournemouth player is properly nailed. Every name in the "who to own" list has started five of the last stretch, not six. That's the tax you pay for shopping at the Vitality — the team is…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Is it worth paying that tax? Mostly, yes. Our model has Bournemouth as one of the sharper attacks in the league — top-half comfortably — with a defence around mid-table that's about to get a genuinely kind run. Strip out Chelsea away and Old Trafford, and the other four are Sunderland and Leeds at home, Ipswich away, Forest at home. That's the sort of run where cheap Bournemouth assets earn their keep.
The route in is Tavernier, and it's not close. He's on the corners, on the free kicks, and third in the penalty queue — the man simply touches the ball whenever it stops moving, which is how a £6.1m midfielder ends up projecting around five points a week over the next six. Fewer than 1 in 10 managers own him. Scott sits at the same price and our model ranks him a clear step below — same rotation risk, less of the set-piece pie. If you're buying one Bournemouth midfielder, it's Tavernier, and Rayan at £6.3m is answering a question nobody asked.
At the back, the clean-sheet run is real and the prices are lovely. Truffert at £5.4m is the model's preferred defensive route, with Petrović a perfectly sensible £4.5m keeper for the same shut-outs, and both owned by basically nobody. Just accept what you're buying: clean-sheet points on the good weeks, and the odd unexplained benching. Evanilson at £6.0m is the shiny name here, and he's the one I'd swerve — priced for what he might do, projecting less than the defenders behind him.
What changes the call? A run of team sheets. If Tavernier or Truffert misses a start against Chelsea or Sunderland, the rotation tax just went up and the value case thins fast.
Until then: buy Tavernier as your way into this run, Truffert if the budget's tight at the back, and leave the forward line alone.
