Bournemouth FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid

This is the version of Bournemouth FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid from 8 September 2026, kept for the record. The picks and the numbers have moved since. The current version →

The call — Bournemouth's best value isn't where you'd look first — it's the £6.0m man on every dead ball. Tavernier takes the corners, shares the free kicks, and sits third in the penalty queue, and our model has him top of the whole Bournemouth pile — good for just over five points a week across the next six, with hardly anyone owning…

One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

The team itself is quietly decent at both ends — mid-table-plus attack, and a back line our projections rate among the meaner ones in the league. The fixture story splits, though. The clean-sheet run is the kind one: Brentford, Sunderland and Leeds all come to the Vitality, which is where Truffert, Hill and Petrović earn their keep. Hill is the deep cut — barely anyone has him at £5.5m, and he starts. Petrović at £4.5m is the classic funding move: a keeper who plays every week behind a top-six defence, freeing cash for your premiums.

The honest other side: Liverpool visit, then it's Chelsea and Manchester United away. That's three of six against sides who can wreck a defensive return, so don't expect clean sheets in bunches — expect two or three across the run, mostly from the home games. Sample's thin too — three starts each so far — though the model calls all of these players nailed, which is the box I care about most.

The one to swerve is Evanilson. £6.0m for a starting forward looks like value on paper, but our numbers have him behind four team-mates who cost the same or less. That's a price paid for what he might do on a great day, not what he does most weeks — and I don't pay for might.

The call: buy Tavernier at £6.0m as your route in — set pieces, minutes, nobody owns him. If you want the defensive angle instead, Truffert or Petrović are the honest picks for the home run. Leave Evanilson on the shelf.
