Tottenham Hotspur FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Spurs: buy the back door, ignore the shop window Here's the shape of it: our model rates Spurs' defence as one of the meanest in the league — top six — while the attack sits 19th of 20. That's not a team you buy for goals. That's a team you buy for cheap clean sheets, and the price tags agree.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

The value all sits at one end. Van Hecke leads our list at £4.9m, nailed, and owned by fewer than 1 in 10 — a proper defender's projection at an enabler's price. Van de Ven is the same story a fraction dearer, and Kinsky at £4.5m is the rare budget keeper who both starts and sits behind a genuinely good back line. Robertson is the deepest cut of the lot: £4.4m, nailed, and he's on corners — a set-piece role you don't normally get thrown in free with a defender that cheap. Any of the top three is a sound buy; Van Hecke is the pick because the model puts him first and he's started more than anyone behind him.
Now the honest bit. The clean-sheet run is only average — AVL (H) and CHE (A) in the next six are the games you write off, and MUN (A) is no gift. You're buying COV (H), CRY (H) and LEE (A), which is three real shouts out of six. That's fine at these prices; it wouldn't be fine at £6m.
Which brings us to the other end. The attack faces a very tough run and the model ranks it near the bottom of the league, yet Marmoush costs £7m and Sávio £6.5m. That's paying for what they might do, not what the fixtures say they will. Hardly anyone owns them and hardly anyone should — not this window. Same warning on Senesi: £5.8m for a defender who isn't nailed is the worst deal on the page. A cheap player who plays beats a mid-price one who doesn't, every single week.
The call: buy in through the defence — Van Hecke first choice, Kinsky if it's a keeper you need, Robertson if you're funding a premium elsewhere. Leave every Spurs attacker on the shelf until the fixtures turn.
