Tottenham Hotspur FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Spurs: buy the back door, ignore the shop window Here's the whole Spurs story in one line: our model ranks their defence sixth-meanest in the league and their attack 19th. Nineteenth. Out of twenty. So if you're buying into this team — and there's a decent case you should — you're buying clean sheets, not goals.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

The fixture list backs the defensive half of that up. AVL (H), MUN (A), COV (H), CHE (A), CRY (H), LEE (A) is a genuinely kind run for shut-outs — Coventry, Palace and Leeds in there is about as friendly as it gets — even while the same list is rated a tough slog for their forwards. That's the quirk worth exploiting: the value sits entirely at the wrong end of the pitch for the shiny picks, and entirely at the right end for the cheap ones.
Van Hecke is the pick of the lot. He's nailed, he's started four straight, he's under £5m, and hardly anyone owns him — well under 1 in 10. He's projected to be the best-scoring Spurs asset over the next six, which for a budget defender is exactly what you want funding a premium elsewhere. Van de Ven is the same story a fraction dearer, and Kinsky at £4.5m is the keeper route in — already popular at nearly 2 in 10, so less of a sneaky move, but the price is the price.
Robertson at £4.4m is tempting on paper and he's on corners, but he's got fewer starts under him than Van Hecke, so I'd take the man with the surer minutes. That's the whole job at this price point.
Now the honest bit. Do not go near the attack. Marmoush is priced for what he might do, not what he's likely to do — a modest return over six weeks from a 19th-ranked attack facing a tough run is not £7.0m well spent. Tonali and Bentancur are fine footballers and reliable starters, but midfielders who don't score don't pay rent in FPL. And Senesi isn't nailed, so he doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.
The other caveat: three of those six fixtures are away, and Chelsea and United away are where clean-sheet plans go to die. This is a buy for the home games as much as the run.
The call: buy Van Hecke at £4.9m — nailed, cheap, barely owned, and the best thing Spurs offer. Kinsky if you need the keeper. Leave the attack on the shelf.
