Manchester City FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — City's set-piece menu now runs through a £7.8m midfielder — Cherki takes the free kicks, shares the corners, and starts every week. That's where the value in this squad lives, and it's not at the top of the price list.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

The question this page exists for: is City worth buying into over the next six? Yes — but be honest about the run first. It reads kindly on paper, and Sunderland, Ipswich and Brighton all coming to the Etihad is genuinely gentle. But Old Trafford, Anfield and Villa Park are the away days, and nobody's promising clean sheets at Anfield. This is a good run, not a free one.
Haaland is the non-decision. About 7 in 10 managers own him, he's on penalties, and our model has him comfortably clear of everyone else in blue for points over the next six — usually good for a solid return most weeks and capable of going enormous in the home games. At £15.5m you're not buying him for value; you're buying him because not owning him is the risk. If he's in your team, he stays, and he's your armband for Sunderland and Ipswich at home.
The actual value buy is Cherki. Nailed, on the dead balls, roughly 3 in 10 own him, and our model ranks him as the route into this attack behind Haaland — ahead of Anderson, who's cheaper and shares corner duty but sits lower in our pecking order for a reason. When productive slots are crowded, take the one the model prefers, not the one that's 50p cheaper.
At the back, City rank among the league's meaner defences, and the model likes Guéhi at £6.0m as the pick of the defenders — owned by about 2 in 10 and starting every week. Gvardiol saves you a bit if the budget's tight, but Guéhi projects better and the gap is small. Donnarumma at £5.5m with fewer than 1 in 10 owning him is a quietly sensible keeper route into the same clean sheets — the sort of pick that never wins you a pub argument but funds one.
The call: Haaland stays and captains the home games. If you want a second City slot without the £15.5m entry fee, buy Cherki — nailed, on set pieces, priced for what he actually delivers. That's the transfer this week.
