Ipswich Town FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — IPSWICH: THE £4.0m QUESTION Here's the thing the table above tells you if you read it properly: Ipswich have four £4.0m defenders, all of them nailed, and the most-owned one — Diop, sitting in about one and a half in every 10 squads — is the worst pick of the lot by our projections. The crowd has bought the wrong…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Let's be honest about what you're buying into. This is a bottom-three defence by our reckoning, and the run of fixtures is about as unkind as it gets for clean sheets — Crystal Palace and Everton away, Manchester City away, Forest at home. If you're buying an Ipswich defender expecting shutouts, don't. You're buying a body that starts every week at the minimum price, which is a different and perfectly respectable purchase. That's what funds a Haaland.
Our model's pick is Davis, and there's a reason he sits above the rest despite O'Shea's projection nosing slightly ahead: he's on free kicks, which gives a £4.0m defender something other than clean-sheet prayers to earn from. Nailed, dirt cheap, owned by roughly 1 in 20 — that's the enabler done right. O'Shea is a fine alternative if you'd rather. Diop, meanwhile, projects several points below both over the next six. If you own him, that's a free sideways move to Davis costing you nothing.
The attack? Middling — 13th in the league by our numbers — and it's facing a tough run too. Emersonn is the one worth a glance: £5.5m, nailed, on the penalty rota, hardly anyone owns him, and he projects best of anyone at the club. Usually good for 3-4 a week with the odd bigger day when a pen drops. But you're not buying Ipswich for goals against this fixture list; Fulham and Hull are the only games that look kind, and they're spread thin.
The caveat: three starts is a short book on all of these, and if Davis loses the shirt the whole case goes with it.
The call: buy Davis at £4.0m as your fifth defender and forget about him. If you're holding Diop, swap him for Davis. Leave the attack alone unless you specifically need a £5.5m forward who plays — in which case Emersonn, and only Emersonn.
