Coventry City FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Coventry: the value's all at the wrong end — which is exactly where you want it Here's the shape of it: our model ranks Coventry's attack dead last in the league — 20th of 20 — but the defence sits comfortably top half, ninth-meanest in the division. That's a club with precisely one thing to sell you, and mercifully it's…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

The fixtures agree. After Newcastle at home and a trip to Tottenham — grit your teeth for those two — it's Fulham, Sunderland and Palace at the Coventry Building Society Arena with an Everton away in between. That's a very kind run for clean sheets, and a brutal one for anyone hoping a Coventry forward outscores his price. Thomas-Asante is the case in point: only two starts recently and the model wants nothing to do with the front line. Ignore that end entirely.
So the buy is at the back, and the table tells you the order. Bobby Thomas at £4.0m leads the lot — he's started five of the last six, he's the best-projected Coventry asset over the next six weeks, and roughly 1 in 10 managers already have him, so the secret's half out. Jay Dasilva is the quieter version of the same trade: same price, same five starts, hardly anyone owns him. Rushworth at £4.5m gives you the same clean sheets through the gloves plus save points, again with barely any owners.
The honest caveat: nobody in this squad is what I'd call nailed. Five starts from six is good, not guaranteed, and a £4.0m defender who sits on the bench is worth exactly nothing. Pinnock has only started half the games — leave him. If Thomas or Dasilva drops out of the XI for two straight weeks, the whole case folds, because there's no attacking return coming to bail anyone out.
But that's the point of these players. You're not buying a haul — you're buying a starter at the minimum price whose clean-sheet odds from GW3 onwards are genuinely decent, freeing up cash for the players who actually score points. That's the job description, and Thomas fits it.
The call: buy Bobby Thomas at £4.0m as your value defender for the run from Fulham onwards; Dasilva if you need a second body. Bench them for Newcastle and Spurs, start them after that. Touch nothing in the Coventry attack.
