Brentford FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Brentford's fixtures are telling you two different stories — and the smart money follows the quieter one. The next six — AVL (A), LIV (H), HUL (A), NFO (H), BHA (A), EVE (H) — are a genuinely kind run for clean sheets and a fairly awkward one for goals. That's the whole shape of the decision here. Brentford are a…

So where does the value actually sit? The honest answer: at the back, pound for pound. Kelleher at £5.0 is a starting keeper behind one of the league's meaner defences heading into a soft run, and only about 1 in 2 of a tenth of managers... fine — hardly anyone owns him, about 1 in 20. Ajer at £4.5 is the pick of the cheap defenders because he actually starts every week. That matters more than it should: Schuster is the same price and barely anyone owns him, but he's started two of the last five. A £4.5 defender on the bench is £4.5 doing nothing. Buy the one with the shirt.
Up front, the obvious caveat — tough attacking fixtures — hasn't stopped Schade topping our rankings, and at £6.2 he's the one Brentford attacker who makes sense anyway. Nailed, on the penalty list behind Thiago, and usually good for 4–5 a week with the odd double-digit day in him. About 1 in 11 managers have him, so he's not yet template. Thiago is the interesting contrast: £7.8, and our model ranks him *below* a midfielder £1.6 cheaper. That's a striker priced for his best week while the fixtures ask him to grind out his worst ones. Pass. Janelt and Lewis-Potter are honest £5.0–5.5 starters if you need a body who plays, nothing more.
The caveat on the lot: away trips to Villa and Brighton plus Liverpool at the Gtech mean this isn't six free clean sheets — it's a kind run, not a bye.
The call: Schade is the Brentford attacker to buy if you want one — but the best value on this page is Kelleher and Ajer for £9.5m combined. I'd take the defence first.
