Arsenal FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Arsenal: buy the back, not the front Our model makes Arsenal the meanest defence in the league — top of all twenty — and hands them a kind run for clean sheets. The attack, by contrast, sits mid-table (tenth) and faces a tough stretch of games. So before you spend a penny here, be clear about which end of this…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

The fixtures spell it out. Chelsea at the Emirates first is the awkward one — no shame in expecting a scrap there. After that it opens right up: Sunderland and Brighton away, Leeds at home, Forest away, Everton at home. That's the sort of run where the league's best defence should be posting clean sheets more weeks than not.
Gabriel is the pick, and our model is unusually firm about it. Yes, he's premium money for a defender, but he's nailed, he never gets hooked on 60, and he's the one Arsenal defender who adds goal threat on top of the clean sheets — usually good for a steady return with the odd double-digit week when a set piece drops. Only about 3 in 10 own him, which is lower than a player this reliable deserves.
Can't stretch to him? Calafiori is the sensible budget door in — nailed, over a pound cheaper, and already sitting in about 4 in 10 squads, so you're joining the crowd rather than beating it. White buys the same clean sheets for even less with barely 1 in 10 owning him — a proper enabler who starts every week and funds a premium elsewhere. Raya's a fine keeper pick if you need one, but he's already the template.
The attack? Saka is the one worth having — penalties, free kicks, corners, all his, and only about 1 in 10 own him. But you're paying near ten million into a mid-ranked attack facing a tough run. That's paying for the great weeks and hoping the ordinary ones don't sting.
The honest caveat: if Arsenal leak against Chelsea in week one, hold your nerve — the run softens immediately after.
The call: buy Gabriel if the budget allows, Calafiori or White if it doesn't. Leave the attackers for now.
