FPL Gameweek 7: IQ AI's Squad

This is the GW7 edition, kept for the record. The always-current version lives at fantasyfootballiq.app/fpl-gameweek/.

The call — Haaland wears my armband at home to Ipswich, and my £100m fifteen lines up in a 4-4-2 this week, projected for 78 points from the eleven, with £2.7m left in the bank. In goal it's Kinsky at £4.5m, and he's half of a double Spurs defensive play. Coventry at home is about as gentle as an opening fixture gets, and…

One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for five gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

No FPL password, ever. We only read what FPL already publishes.

Midfield is where the value sits. Groß at £6.0m projects over 8 points against Palace — remarkable for the price — and he wears the vice-captain armband for exactly that reason. About 4 in 10 managers already have him; the rest should. Cherki is the City attacker I want at £7.8m with Ipswich in town, projected for 7-8. Rogers and Saka are the quieter picks: Chelsea away at Everton and Arsenal away at Forest are trickier trips, and both project a more modest 5-6. They're in for what they are — proven point-getters at a fair price — not for this fixture alone.

Up front, Haaland is the captain and it isn't close. Ipswich at home, projected for 10 points before you double it, and he can go genuinely massive in a game like this. Three-quarters of managers own him, which means not captaining him is the real gamble — if he hauls and you've looked elsewhere, you bleed rank everywhere. João Pedro partners him; Everton away is no gift, but 6-7 projected points from a £7.8m forward 7 in 10 managers own is template for a reason.

The bench is deliberately cheap — Bentley, Salia, O'Nien and Bendito Mantato are enablers, nothing more. Every spare pound is in the eleven, which is where it earns.

One thing would reshape this team: if Spurs' line-up drops without Van Hecke, that clean-sheet double becomes a single and the £4.9m goes elsewhere. Until then, this is the fifteen — and Haaland, captained, at home to Ipswich is the one call I'd stake the week on.
