Manchester United FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — United's attack ranks fifth in our projections — and not one of their players starts every week. That's the whole club in a sentence. Four starts out of the last stretch is the best anyone can show you, from the £11.9m captain down to the £4.8m centre-half. Before you spend a penny at Old Trafford, understand you're buying a rota…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

The question the price list asks is Fernandes or Mbeumo, and our model puts Fernandes top — he's on penalties, free-kicks and corners, he's the biggest projected haul in the squad over the next six, and about 4 in 10 managers already own him. Fair enough. But £11.9m is a price that assumes he plays 90 every week, and Ruben Amorim's rotation doesn't assume anything. You're paying for his ceiling and hoping the minutes hold.
Mbeumo is where the value actually sits. Four pounds cheaper, second in line on every set piece — pens, free-kicks, corners — projected only a handful of points behind Fernandes over the six, and owned by roughly 2 in 10. Same rotation risk, much smaller bill when it bites. Cunha at the same price is the forgotten man at under 1 in 10 owned, but the model ranks him a clear third among the mids, so treat him as the punt, not the plan.
The defence? United rank 16th of 20 for keeping the ball out. Maguire and Lammens are cheap and tempting as bench fodder, but a back line that leaks and rotates is the worst kind of £4.8m — a player who blanks when he plays and doesn't always play. Spend your enabler money at clubs that actually keep clean sheets.
The fixtures split neatly in two: TOT (H), LEE (A) and BOU (H) are winnable, then CHE (A), AVL (H) and LIV (A) turn nasty. That front three is where the attack earns its rank; the back three is where you'll want a bench option ready.
The call: buy Mbeumo at £7.9m — he's the honest price for United's upside. Hold Fernandes if you've got him, but don't pay £11.9m to join in now. And leave the defence alone entirely.
