Liverpool FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Liverpool: buy the corners, not the clean sheets Start with the awkward truth: our model has Liverpool's defence down as the 19th meanest in the league right now. Not mid-table shaky — second-worst. And the clean-sheet run coming up is grim, with Manchester City at Anfield and trips to Bournemouth and Brentford in the next six. Whatever you're buying from…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

That matters because the value here sits entirely at one end of the pitch, and the table on this page tells you which end. Virgil at £6.5m and Alisson are priced like Liverpool of old — you're paying for a reputation the fixtures and the defensive numbers won't cash. Jacquet at £5.0m is at least starting, which is more than most cheap defenders can say, but a nailed enabler behind a leaky defence is still a route to a lot of 1s and 2s.
The attack is a different conversation. Our model has Liverpool as a decent-but-not-elite attack — eighth — into a run that isn't kind: Ipswich away and Fulham at home are fine, but City, Brentford away and Brighton are work. Which is exactly why the pick is Szoboszlai. He's £7.0m, he's nailed, about 4 in 10 managers already own him, and he's on everything — penalties, free kicks, corners. When a team's fixtures get tough, the man taking every dead ball is the one whose points don't dry up. He's the floor pick, and I like floors. Isak is the bigger name at £9.0m with a marginally higher projection and the upside to go massive on his day, but you're paying £2.0m more for roughly the same points over six — that's £2.0m that could fund a premium elsewhere.
Gakpo at £7.0m and roughly 1 in 10 ownership is the quiet differential if you already own Szoboszlai — he's nailed and shares set-piece duty. Wirtz is the one priced for what he might become rather than what he's returning; at £7.5m behind two cheaper teammates in our order, leave him.
The call: buy Szoboszlai at £7.0m — nailed, on pens, cheapest route into this attack. Isak only if the £9.0m doesn't cost you a premium elsewhere. And don't touch a Liverpool defender until the fixtures — and the defence — improve.
