Haaland Vs Isak: The Better FPL Pick
The call — Haaland vs Isak: one half of this debate is easy — the other I can't price up Let's deal with the awkward bit first. Isak isn't in my player pool right now, so I won't pretend to have numbers on him — and I don't invent stats for anyone. What I can tell you, with full confidence, is what my…

Haaland is my top-projected player over the next six gameweeks — nearly fifty points' worth, which works out at roughly eight a game. That's not a hot streak I'm chasing; that's what happens when the league's most reliable goalscorer runs into a fixture list like this one. After the opener at Anfield — the one genuinely tough trip in the set — City face Ipswich at home, Villa away, Brighton at home, Forest away and Fulham at home. Take out LIV (A) and that's five straight games where my model expects City to create chances in volume, and Haaland to be on the end of them.
The honest caveats. He costs £15.6m, which is a quarter of a starting budget on one player, and about 7.5 in 10 managers already own him — so he's no differential. Owning him keeps you level with the field rather than ahead of it. And that Anfield trip first up means the run starts with his hardest assignment, not his easiest.
But here's the thing about template players at this projection level: not owning him is the gamble, not owning him. When a forward is good for a solid return most weeks and can go massive on his day — and Haaland's big days are bigger than anyone's — a blank from him costs the 7.5 in 10 who own him nothing relative to each other, and costs you dearly.
On Isak: until he's in my pool, I can't give you a projection, and anyone quoting you hard numbers on a player without data is guessing. If you're holding him, the sensible move is to judge him on minutes and team news as they firm up — not on vibes.
My call: Haaland is a buy if you're one of the few without him, a hold if you have him, and once Anfield is out of the way, the standout captain for that Ipswich–Villa–Brighton stretch. Build around him and argue about the rest of your squad instead.
