Ownership Watch: Groß Nudges Past Cherki as the Ledger Stays Quiet

The only line in today's book that actually changed hands: Pascal Groß edged past Rayan Cherki into fourth spot among midfielders, adding a couple of tenths overnight to sit at roughly 3 in 10 ownership. Cherki didn't lose anyone — he just stood still while Groß kept ticking up. That's how price rises happen: not with a bang, but with a slow, steady queue at the till.

Elsewhere, the day-over-day movement is small change. Tzolakis quietly added buyers among keepers — the Hull man is now owned by better than 1 in 10, which for a budget stopper is real template territory. Isak, De Cuyper, Gvardiol, Hall and Tarkowski all took in a trickle of new owners. On the debit side, it's a familiar list of slow leaks: Palmer, Mbeumo and Semenyo each shed a sliver, and João Pedro — still sat in about 6.5 in 10 squads — recorded his first small outflow.

The headline names didn't budge. Haaland at roughly 7 in 10 isn't going anywhere; nor is Calafiori, the most-owned defender at about half of all squads, or Rogers leading the midfield book at 4 in 10. When the template freezes like this, the value is in the margins — and the margins today say Groß.

Here's the accountant's read. A player adding ownership day after day, even in small increments, is a player whose price is drifting toward a rise. Groß has now overtaken a bigger name to climb the table, and the crowd rarely stops buying once a bandwagon gets rolling at this ownership level. If he's on your shortlist, the cheapest version of him is today's version. The honest caveat: this is one day of small numbers, and a quiet news cycle can reverse a trickle overnight — nobody should burn a hit chasing a 0.2 shift.

The fade is just as clear. Palmer's slow bleed continues, and while about 1 in 4 managers still hold him, a persistent daily outflow at that ownership is exactly the profile that precedes a price fall. If you were already minded to sell, the selling price you have now is the best one you'll get.

The call: if Groß was ever in your plans, move now and bank the price before the crowd does it for you. If you're a wavering Palmer owner, sell this week rather than next — the ledger says his value only goes one way from here.
