The call — Price Watch: Palmer's 300k stampede means tonight's the night Over 300,000 managers have moved for Palmer this week — the biggest net swing on the board — and that's the sort of ledger movement that doesn't wait politely for you to make up your mind. He's already sitting in about 2 in 10 squads, and with numbers like that he's…

He's not alone. Konsa (roughly 250k in, owned by about 1 in 10) and Ødegaard (230k in, similar ownership) are both queuing at the till. Calafiori is the interesting one — nearly half of all managers already own him, and another 229k have piled in this week. That's template territory, and every £0.1m rise makes him more expensive to catch up on later. Hall (223k in) and Mendy (151k) round out the defensive movers, while Scott and Barnes are the low-owned punts creeping toward a bump — Barnes is in barely 2 in 10 of every hundred squads, so that one's for the early movers only.

The honest caveat: none of these rises is guaranteed. Thresholds shift, transfers can slow, and buying a player purely to bank £0.1m is how you end up with a squad full of value and no points. Only jump early on players you genuinely want — the price is a tiebreaker, not the reason.

On the other side of the ledger, the sells are just as instructive. Watkins is haemorrhaging owners — nearly 90,000 out this week — and looks the likeliest faller of the lot. Eze, Merino, Jesus and the rest of the low-ownership drifters are bleeding slowly toward drops too. Here the maths flips: if you're planning to buy any of these, waiting costs you nothing and might save you £0.1m. If you own Watkins and you're wavering, tonight is the deadline to get full sale price — sleep on it and you're locked into the lower number.

The call: if Palmer, Calafiori or Konsa are on your shortlist for the next fortnight, buy tonight and beat the rise — Palmer especially, because 300k net transfers rarely miss. Everything on the fallers' list, sit on your hands: let Watkins drop first and pocket the discount. And if you own Watkins and were selling anyway, do it before the ledger closes tonight.
