FPL Injury News: The Players Returning Within A Week

The call — Eight players, one return date: 10 October. FPL has stamped the same comeback day on eight injured players. All eight are ruled out of this round — zero chance of featuring, per the official flags. The question is which one to line up before the date arrives.

One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for five gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Our model puts Hinshelwood at the top of the list. Brighton, £5.9m, an ankle problem, back 10 October per FPL's own listing. Barely anyone owns him — fewer than 1 in 10 managers. Our projections give him around five points across the next six gameweeks, and that number is held down by the games he misses and the minutes he will likely be managed through on return. That is the pattern with players coming off injury lists: benched first week, 60 minutes the next, full starts after that.

Behind him the case thins. Mitoma — same club, same £5.9m, hamstring — ranks below his team-mate in our projections, and two Brighton players returning on the same day means a fight for the same slots. Jensen (BRE, £5.4m) and Cairney (FUL, £4.9m) project fewer points still. Goretzka and Pau at Villa, Azeez at Brighton and Emegha at Chelsea sit at the bottom of the list. None of them clears the bar for a transfer.

The honest reading: even Hinshelwood is not a buy today. He cannot play this round. Spending a transfer now on a player flagged at zero chance is a wasted week.

The call: hold your transfers. Put Hinshelwood on the watchlist and move only when Brighton confirm he is training and starting. The other seven — Mitoma included — leave alone. One name worth planning for. None worth buying this week.
