The call — Forwards under £9.5m: who's actually worth the money Thirty-three forwards qualify at this price point. Most of them are romance. Here's what the money actually buys, in the order our model prefers them. Calvert-Lewin (LEE, £6.0m) — the top pick, and about 1 in 4 of you already know it. Around 20 points projected over the next six despite a…

One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

Isak (LIV, £9.1m) — the best raw projection in the bracket at roughly 26 points, owned by about 2 in 10. The catch: MCI (H) next and a very tough run behind it, and £9.1m is a lot of budget for a fixture list this ugly.

Wissa (NEW, £6.2m) — same projected points as Isak for £2.9m less, with the kindest fixtures on this list, starting at COV (A). About 2 in 10 own him. If you want ceiling per pound, this is where it lives.

Thiago (BRE, £7.8m) — good for around 23 points, under 1 in 10 own him, but the fixtures are tough and AVL (A) is no gift. Fine, not essential.

Brobbey (SUN, £5.7m) — proven, £5.7m, projected around 22 points. Brutal fixtures, but at this price you're buying a starter who plays, and that's the whole job.

Barry (EVE, £5.6m) — similar story, similar price, HUL (A) next. Honest budget option.

Havertz (ARS, £7.6m) — £7.6m for about 19 points through a very tough run. The maths doesn't flatter him. Pass.

Emersonn (IPS, £5.5m) — decent projection but unproven at this level. Someone has to be the punt; it doesn't have to be yours.

Evanilson (BOU, £6.0m), Gonzalo (FUL, £6.0m), McBurnie (HUL, £5.5m), N.Jackson (AVL, £6.5m) — the tail. Evanilson is the only proven name among them and even he projects under 19 points. The rest are unproven, low-owned, and mostly staring at horrible fixtures. Hardly anyone owns them for a reason.

The call: Calvert-Lewin at £6.0m is the buy — proven, cheap, and productive even through the tough run. Best alternative is Wissa: 20p more expensive, matches Isak's projection, and gets the friendliest fixtures in the bracket. Own both if you can. Skip the shiny £9.1m option until Liverpool's fixtures turn.
