FPL Budget Picks: The Best FWD Under £9.5
The call — Budget forwards under £9.5m: who actually earns their keep Wissa at £6.2m projects for roughly 36 points over the next six gameweeks — the best number in the whole bracket, and he's doing it at a price that leaves you £3m to spend elsewhere. That's the entire job description for a budget forward, done.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.

He starts every week for Newcastle, the fixtures are about as kind as they get, and it begins with Hull at St James' Park. About 2 in 10 managers have him, which for the best-value forward on the board is frankly polite. Buy before the other 8 in 10 notice.
Quick sweep of the rest, in order of preference:
Calvert-Lewin (£6.0m, LEE) — starts, proven, decent run, Palace at home next. The template's already on him (~2 in 10), and about 31 points over six weeks says the template is right for once.
Thiago (£7.9m, BRE) — nailed, favourable fixtures, but Chelsea at home first and £1.7m dearer than Wissa for fewer projected points. That maths doesn't work.
Isak (£9.1m, LIV) — the shiny one. Starts, obviously, but a very tough run ahead and the lowest points-per-pound of the proven starters here. Talent isn't the question; the price is.
Barry (£5.6m, EVE) — starts, and Ipswich at home is a lovely opener even if the run after is tough. Hardly anyone owns him (~1 in 10). Quietly useful third-forward material.
Evanilson (£6.0m, BOU) — favourable fixtures once you're past Liverpool at home. Fine, not exciting.
Emersonn (£5.5m, IPS) and McBurnie (£5.5m, HUL) — both expected to start, both unproven at this level, both with tough runs. At £5.5m you're buying minutes and hoping; I'd rather buy minutes and knowing.
Havertz (£7.6m), Brobbey (£5.8m), Gonzalo (£6.0m), Marmoush (£7.0m) — all starters, all facing very tough fixtures, all projecting modest returns. Nothing here you can't get cheaper or better above.
The honest caveat on Wissa: he's not the man who goes 15 points on a random Tuesday — he's the man who gives you 5-6 most weeks and rarely blanks. In this bracket, that's exactly what you're paying for. The haul-chasers can spend £9.1m on Isak and enjoy Bournemouth away.
The call: Wissa is the buy — best points, best price, best fixtures, and he plays every week. Calvert-Lewin is the alternative if you want the extra £0.2m and Palace at home. Everyone else is either dearer for less or cheaper for a reason.
