Brighton & Hove Albion FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — Brighton, quietly, are the team our model likes most on both ends of the pitch No match moments to romanticise here, just a cold fact: over the first six gameweeks, our projections rank Brighton's attack the strongest in the league AND their defence the meanest. Nobody else does the double. Look at the run and you see why — AVL…

The unglamorous truth is the best route in is the cheap stuff. Verbruggen at £4.5m is the pick I'd actually make — projected around 23 points over the six, clean-sheet potential in most weeks, and goalkeepers don't get hooked on 60 minutes. About 2 in 10 managers already have him, so you're not even being clever, just sensible. Groß at £5.5m is the midfield version of the same idea: on set pieces, plays every week, good for 25-ish points across the run, owned by roughly 1 in 10.
The interesting one is Hinshelwood — £6.0m, the highest projected Brighton player over the window at nearly 28 points, and owned by almost nobody (about 2 in 100). That's the shiny pick, and my usual question applies: is he nailed? A 2-in-100 ownership tells you the market hasn't decided yet either. If you take him, you're taking some minutes risk for the biggest upside in this squad. De Cuyper (£4.6m) and Dunk (£4.5m) are budget defender options riding the same clean-sheet wave — fine enablers, though the model rates them below the three above, so treat them as bench fodder that occasionally starts, not cornerstones.
The honest caveat: it's Brighton, and Brighton rotate. That's exactly why the keeper is the safest way in — Verbruggen doesn't get rested for a cup run.
The call: buy Verbruggen at £4.5m now, before Aston Villa at home kicks this run off. If you want Brighton's attack too, Groß is the reliable body; Hinshelwood is the swing for the brave. Me? I'll take the man in gloves who plays 90 every week.
