The FPL Template: The Players Almost Everyone Owns
The call — Two players now sit in seven out of every ten squads — Haaland and João Pedro — and that's the whole story of Gameweek 4. When ownership gets that heavy, these aren't picks anymore. They're the price of entry. Blank without them and one Haaland brace sends your rank through the floor.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

So let's protect what we've built. The shields we must own:
Haaland (£15.5m) and João Pedro (£7.7m) are non-negotiable. Our projections have Haaland pushing 46 points over the next six gameweeks and Pedro right there with him at 38 — and with 7 in 10 managers holding both, going without either is a gamble we don't need to take.
Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m) is the third pillar. Nearly 5 in 10 own him, and our model has him as the single biggest points source in the whole template — close to 50 over the next six. Expensive, yes. Skippable, no. His teammate Mbeumo (£7.9m) projects a strong 38 himself and only about 3 in 10 have him — a lovely way to double up on that attack.
Now the quiet one. Guéhi (£6.0m) at City is owned by fewer than 2 in 10 of us, yet he's comfortably the best-projected defender in the template — nearly 35 points over six weeks, well clear of Gabriel and Calafiori. That's a City clean-sheet machine at a Palace price. Get there before the crowd does.
And the crowd is moving. This week's transfer traffic is flowing to Gakpo, Wissa, Palmer, Isak — and Cherki (£7.8m), who's already in the template at 3 in 10 and projecting a healthy 32. Of the five, Cherki is the move we'd match: the others are chases; he's a City attacker the numbers already back.
The one piece it's safe to skip? Calvert-Lewin (£6.0m). Roughly 2.5 in 10 own him, but he's the weakest projected attacker in this XI — about 24 points over six weeks, barely a defender's return from a forward slot. If a transfer has to come from somewhere, it comes from there.
The call: lock in Haaland, João Pedro and Bruno as our shields, spend this week's move on Guéhi, and let Calvert-Lewin be the template piece we happily leave to everyone else.
