Manchester City FPL: Who To Own, Captain And Avoid
The call — The strange thing about this City side is that the value isn't where the price tags are. Our model has City with the second-best attack in the league and the third-meanest defence — and after one awkward trip to Anfield, the fixtures turn into a procession: Ipswich at home, Villa away, Brighton at home, Forest away, Fulham at home. That's…
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?
One squad, picked before a ball was kicked and run for six gameweeks on three transfers — no hits taken. Scored on FPL’s own results.
Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

Start with the obvious. Haaland is priced for his ceiling, not his floor — but he's nailed, he's on penalties, and about 7 in 10 managers already own him, so this isn't really a buy decision. Not owning him through Ipswich and Brighton at home is how you lose a mini-league. Keep him, captain him once Anfield's out of the way, and move on.
The actual value sits one row down and at the back. Cherki, at under £8m, is on both free kicks and corners — the full set-piece portfolio for one of the league's sharpest attacks — and only about 3 in 10 have him. The honest caveat: he's started three of City's last four, not four of four, and Pep's hooks come without warning. He's the upside pick, not the banker.
The banker is the defence. Gvardiol and Guéhi have both started every week, Donnarumma is the cheapest route in, and with a top-three defence running into Ipswich, Brighton and Fulham at home, the clean sheets should come in bunches. A City defender here is the rare thing I actually like: a player who starts, in a team that doesn't concede, with a run where it'd be rude not to.
What would change the call? A thumping at Anfield followed by Pep reshuffling the back line — it's happened before. And steer around the cheaper midfield trio: Ndiaye and Anderson are fine, but Enzo's started just two of four, and a "nailed" tag means little when the minutes say otherwise.
The move this week: buy Gvardiol. Cherki's the fun one if you've got the spare cash, Haaland's the hold-and-captain — but the reliable money goes on the defender who never misses, in front of a very kind run. Buy him.
