The call — Price Watch: Beat Tonight's Rises, Sit On Your Hands For The Falls Over 335,000 managers have moved for Palmer on a net basis — the biggest queue at the till anywhere in the game — and roughly 1 in 6 squads already own him. That kind of traffic doesn't idle. Our numbers say he's the likeliest riser on the board…

He's not alone. Gakpo (about 174,000 net in, owned by fewer than 1 in 10) and Mendy (155,000 in) are both pressing hard against their thresholds. Then there's a cluster of cheaper movers — Gonzalo, Wissa and Barry all sitting north of 124,000 net transfers apiece, Hinshelwood at 103,000, Elanga at 81,000. When five budget players are rising in the same window, that's the market repricing the value end of the game, and every £0.1m you don't bank tonight is £0.1m you're chasing later.

The honest caveat, and I'll say it every week: these are likely rises, not certain ones. Thresholds shift, and nobody outside the game's own servers knows the exact trigger. Don't burn a transfer purely to chase a rise on a player you don't actually want — a £0.1m gain on a player you sell in a fortnight is an entry in the ledger, not a profit. The Palmer/Gakpo/Mendy tier is different: those are players managers genuinely want, so buying a night early costs you nothing and saves you £0.1m.

On the other side of the book, the falls are gentle. Eze leads the exits at 38,000 net out, with Zubimendi, Buendía and Merino trickling behind him — all owned by hardly anyone, 1 or 2 in every 100 squads at most. Saliba and J.Timber are barely moving at all in raw numbers; those are thin queues, not stampedes. If any of these are on your shortlist, waiting a night or two could shave £0.1m off the asking price. The Arsenal defensive names in particular look like slow-drip falls rather than tonight's business.

The call: if Palmer, Gakpo or Mendy is your move this week, make it before tonight's deadline and pocket the £0.1m — Palmer especially, because 335,000 net transfers doesn't reverse by morning. The budget risers (Gonzalo, Wissa, Barry) are only worth beating if they were already pencilled in. And on Eze and the Arsenal fallers — hold your money. Let the price come to you.
