FPL Budget Picks: The Best MID Under £9.0
The call — Best budget midfielders under £9.0m: minutes first, romance never The sharpest thing in our numbers this week: a £5.7m Brighton midfielder projects more points over the next six gameweeks than anything else under £9.0m. We'll get to him. But the top of our list is Morgan Rogers, and that's deliberate.
What has not being with FFIQ cost you this season?

Rogers (CHE, £7.7m) is the pick. Nailed starter, a very kind run of fixtures starting at BRE (A), and our model has him good for roughly seven points a week over the next six — a proper haul rate at that price. About 4 in 10 managers already own him, so he's template rather than clever, but template exists for a reason.
Groß (BHA, £5.7m) is the value story of the bracket. Starts every week, very kind fixtures despite ARS (H) up first, and projects the most points of anyone here. Only about 2 in 10 own him. If your budget is tight, he's the answer — the enabler who funds a premium elsewhere and doesn't blank doing it.
The rest, briefly. Szoboszlai (LIV, £7.0m) starts, but a very tough run beginning at BOU (A) drags his numbers down — owned by nearly 4 in 10 and not earning it right now. Tavernier (BOU, £6.1m) starts, favourable fixtures once LIV (H) passes, hardly owned — quietly decent. Mbeumo (MUN, £7.9m) starts, favourable run from FUL (A), the best of the near-£8m options. Gibbs-White (NFO, £8.0m) starts but the fixtures are tough beyond COV (H) — pass at that price. Dewsbury-Hall (EVE, £6.5m) starts, tough run, fine, no thanks. Diego Gomez (BHA, £5.0m) is the genuine bargain — a starter at five million with very kind fixtures and points projected close to players two million dearer. Barely anyone has him. Schade (BRE, £6.1m) and Scott (BOU, £6.1m) both start with favourable runs — serviceable, unspectacular. Cherki (MCI, £7.8m) is the one I'd flag hardest: nearly 3 in 10 own him, and he projects the worst of the lot. That's £7.8m of shiny doing nothing. Cunha (MUN, £7.9m) starts but Mbeumo is the United midfielder to own.
The call: buy Rogers if you've got £7.7m to spend — he's the best blend of points and reliability under £9.0m. If you haven't, Groß at £5.7m is the best alternative and arguably the best pound-for-pound pick in the game right now. And if you're holding Cherki, sell him for either.
