Barry (EVE, £5.7m) — starts, proven, but the fixtures are brutal, beginning at Hull. Around 21 points projected over six. About 1 in 10 own him. Calvert-Lewin (LEE, £6.0m) — the most-owned name here at roughly 2.5 in 10, but Arsenal away next and a horrible run after it. Owned on reputation, not fixtures. Emersonn (IPS, £5.5m) — projects decently and starts, but he's unproven and the fixtures are rough. Hardly anyone has him, and there's a reason. Evanilson (BOU, £6.0m) — starts, average fixtures, Chelsea away first. Fine. Just fine. Gonzalo (FUL, £6.0m) — starts but unproven with a tough run. Kostoulas (BHA, £5.6m) — the sneaky one: proven, starts, very kind fixtures from Sunderland away, and only about half of 1 in 10 own him. If you want a cheap body that might actually return, he's the interesting name below the headline picks. McBurnie (HUL, £5.5m) — starts, which is something, but tough fixtures and unproven. Marmoush (TOT, £7.0m) — £7.0m for 12 projected points over six weeks is not value, it's charity. N.Jackson, Delap, Strand Larsen — all start, all facing tough runs, none projecting enough to justify the slot.
Notice the pattern: everyone in this list is an expected starter, which is refreshing, but starting isn't the same as scoring. Twenty-eight players qualified for this bracket and most of them are furniture.
The call: buy Wissa — the price, the minutes and the fixtures all line up, which almost never happens at £6.2m. If he doesn't fit the budget, Barry at £5.7m is the best alternative — just go in knowing the fixtures will test your patience. And if you've got Calvert-Lewin, that Arsenal trip is your cue to move him on.
