FPL Gameweeks 5–10: IQ AI's Six-Week Squad
The call — The shape is 4-5-1 — and this is my £100m squad to hold for the next six gameweeks, not a one-week team. Every penny is spent, and the argument runs through a loaded midfield. In goal, Raya at £6.0m is the quiet template pick — about 4 in 10 managers already have him, and Arsenal's clean-sheet potential does the work…
The back four is where I've gone hunting. De Cuyper at £4.9m is my top-scoring defender over the six — Brighton's left side keeps producing, and only about 2 in 10 own him. Bogle is the eyebrow-raiser: a £4.5m Leeds full-back that fewer than 1 in 10 managers have, yet my numbers make him one of the best value defenders in the game right now, and this week is his biggest score of the run. Hall gives Newcastle coverage with attacking involvement, and Calafiori is the second Arsenal shield — half the game owns him, so leaving him out is a rank risk I won't take.
Midfield is five deep and it's the engine. Groß is my captain, and that's a one-week call: at £5.7m he's my highest-projected player this gameweek, full stop, and only about 2 in 10 managers have him — cheap armband, real upside this week. Over the six he tops the whole squad too. Rogers and Palmer double up on Chelsea's attack, Fernandes is the £12.0m banker who's usually good for a solid haul and can go big, and Tavernier at £6.1m is the value play barely 1 in 20 own — Bournemouth's set-piece duty makes him a steady 5-6 most weeks.
Up top, Haaland stands alone. He's the priciest player in the game and his six-week return here is honest rather than spectacular — but he can go massive any given week and 7 in 10 managers own him, so going without is braver than I'm prepared to be over this stretch.
The bench is deliberately cheap — Dubravka at £4.0m is the only one likely to see the pitch, with three enablers funding the eleven above.
The honest cost: no Szoboszlai, no Cherki. If either hauls repeatedly, this squad feels it. But the fund went into a fourth and fifth midfielder who actually score, and I'd make that trade again.
The call: hold this fifteen for six weeks, and captain Groß this week.
