FPL Gameweek 5 Results: Friday's Top Scores And Talking Points

The call — Brentford 3-0 Chelsea: Schuster tops the day with 14 Carvalho came on in the 87th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium. He scored inside his three minutes. Six points for a cameo. That was the tone of the night. Brentford beat Chelsea 3-0 on 18 September and filled the GW5 scoreboard on their own.

The headline score belongs to Schuster. The defender played 90 minutes, set up a goal, banked the clean sheet and took all three bonus points. Fourteen points. He was the captain pick of the day in hindsight — no one on either side came close.

The support acts stack up too. Anthony scored, took two bonus and left with 10 points from 80 minutes. Schade laid on two goals for nine points across the full 90. Thiago scored and finished on five. Ajer added seven from the back with a bonus point. Kelleher took six between the posts. Six Brentford players returned six points or more from one fixture.

Chelsea offered nothing. Fofana was their top scorer with four points, and he was withdrawn on 70 minutes. No Chelsea attacker made the day's top performers at all. Managers holding Chelsea assets took a blank across the board.

The caveats are factual ones. This is one fixture. Carvalho's goal came from three minutes on the pitch — that is not a starting role, and the points do not say otherwise. Kayode left on 68 minutes and, per the scoring, a substitute arriving late is not paid for the clean sheet even when his side keeps one.

What the facts force: Schuster played every minute, contributed an assist, kept the sheet and swept the bonus. He is a defender producing attacking returns on top of clean-sheet points. Anthony and Schade both played major minutes and both returned.

The call is simple. If you own Schuster, he starts — no debate. If you own Anthony or Schade, they start too. If you captained a Chelsea player, that armband was wrong on the night, and the scoreboard says so. Start your Brentford assets.
