The Tools That Help You Win Your FPL Mini-League

Short answer: The best FPL mini-league tool is one that looks at your actual league, not just the game in general. LiveFPL lists leagues in its free tools, and FFIQ's premium plan has a mini-leagues view of who's beating you and how to catch them. The others here focus on projections, planning and articles.

Key takeaways

  1. Decide first whether you need league-specific help or general projections and planning. Most tools here only do the second.
  2. Try the free options before paying anything: LiveFPL, FPL Review's projection model and the free team raters.
  3. Find your FPL team ID in the web address of your Points page. No tool needs your password.
  4. Compare billing carefully: several prices are annual, and some are sale or limited-time prices.
  5. Use a tool's published record, where there is one, to judge whether to trust its advice.

What a mini-league tool needs to do

Winning a mini-league is a different job from climbing the overall table. You are beating a handful of people you know, so what matters is what they own, where you differ and how many points you need to catch them.

That usually comes down to three things: seeing how your rivals' squads compare with yours, finding differentials that separate you from the pack, and knowing when to cover the template so a rival can't run away with a big captain pick. Tools help with these in different ways, and not every tool is built around leagues at all.

So it's worth asking of each one: does it read my league, or does it only read the game and leave me to work out the rest?

The tools compared

Here is what we can say about each, as of 25 October 2026. Where a company doesn't list something, we say so rather than guess.

  • Fantasy Football Scout: articles, community, podcast and data tools. The free Assistant Scout tier covers key articles, news, community, basic fixture data and a team rating. Chief Scout is £3.25 a month, billed annually. An AI chat about your team isn't listed, and it doesn't publish accuracy.
  • Fantasy Football Hub: an AI and expert platform with AI transfers, a team rating, a planner and podcasts. The AI team rating is free (email needed). Starter is £2.49 a month, billed yearly, which is a 50%-off sale price. An AI chat about your team isn't listed, and accuracy isn't published.
  • FPL Review: projections, a planner and a transfer solver. The free projection model in the planner costs nothing, and paid access is through Patreon. It has no AI chat about your team and doesn't publish accuracy as a figure.
  • LiveFPL: live rank, leagues, a price predictor, a planner and a ticker, all free. There is an optional subscription to remove ads. No AI chat, and no published accuracy.
  • Fantasy Football Fix: data tools, AI transfers, ChatFPL and articles. A free account is available, and Premium is £3.48 a month, billed yearly (a limited-time price). ChatFPL is its AI chat about your team. Accuracy isn't published.

Each has a clear audience, and none of them is the wrong choice for the right person.

Which tools actually read your league

This is the part most people are really searching for. On the evidence we have, LiveFPL lists leagues among its free features, which makes it a natural place to watch a league live. The other tools above describe projections, planners, articles or AI transfer help, and don't list a league-specific view.

FFIQ's premium plan includes a mini-leagues feature: who's beating you and how to catch them. We cover it properly further down.

If you mainly want to follow your league as the points come in, a free live tool may be all you need. If you want help deciding what to do about your rivals, look for something that links your league to the moves you could make.

What any tool can see, and what it can't

Fantasy Premier League is free to play, and any tool you add is an extra. It helps to know the limits before you pay for one.

FPL publishes every manager's picks only after the deadline passes. Between deadlines, any tool reads the squad FPL last locked, so you may need to allow for transfers a rival has made but not yet confirmed. That's true of every tool here, not a flaw in one.

You also shouldn't have to hand over your login. No tool needs your FPL password to read your team; the team ID is enough. That's the number in the web address of your Points page on the official FPL site. If a tool asks for your password, ask yourself why.

Remember the basic costs in the game itself. You get free transfers each gameweek, extra transfers cost four points each, and the chips are the Wildcard, Free Hit, Bench Boost and Triple Captain. A good league tool should help you weigh a hit or a chip against what your rivals are doing.

Starting free

You can learn a lot before spending anything. LiveFPL's free tools cover live rank, leagues, a price predictor, a planner and a ticker. FPL Review's free projection model sits inside its planner. Scout, Hub and Fix each offer a free tier or account, with ratings or basic data.

Team raters are a quick way to see whether a tool's view matches your own. FFIQ has a free team rater, FPL Rate My Team, and Hub and Scout each offer a free team rating or rating tool. Run your squad through two or three and see where they agree and disagree. Disagreements are worth thinking about.

If a free tool answers your questions, stay there. Pay only when you keep wanting something it doesn't give you.

Where FFIQ fits

FFIQ is not the cheapest option here, and we won't pretend otherwise. The price is £5.99 a month (the Founding Season price, 60% off the standard £14.99), or £59.99 a year. The signup offer is Your First Month Free; a card is needed and you can cancel any time.

What you get is the move for your own team before every deadline: captain, transfers, chips and line-up, in the War Room. Premium also has IQ, an AI you can ask anything about your team, price-rise alerts for your players the night before, projected points for every player six gameweeks ahead, and the mini-leagues view of who's beating you and how to catch them.

Some of it is free with no account: a projection for every player six gameweeks ahead, predicted line-ups, the weekly captain and transfer calls, and the team rater. Here is how the numbers are put together, in our own words: every call combines 34 calculations with an algorithm that keeps updating as the scenario changes.

We publish our record too: picks made before each deadline and scored on FPL's results, misses included. We never ask for your FPL password; your team ID is enough. And if you're a Scout member, you can run FFIQ alongside your Scout membership.

How to choose

Match the tool to the job:

  • You want to watch your league live and spend nothing: start with LiveFPL.
  • You like reading, listening and community: Scout is built around that.
  • You want projections and a solver: FPL Review's free model is a good first step.
  • You want an AI chat about your team: Fix offers ChatFPL, and FFIQ offers IQ.
  • You want your league and your next move in one place: that is the case for FFIQ.

Prices are cheaper on some tools, and several are annual or promotional, so check the billing before you commit. Whatever you pick, try the free parts first.

LiveFPL lists live rank, leagues, a price predictor, a planner and a ticker for free. It also has an optional subscription to remove ads.

Do I need to give a tool my FPL password?

No. No tool needs your password to read your team; your FPL team ID is enough. You'll find it in the web address of your Points page on the official FPL site.
