What's The Best FPL App? Every Option Compared

Short answer: There isn't one best FPL app; it depends on what you're short of. LiveFPL is a strong free pick for live rank and price predictions, Scout suits reading and community, FPL Review suits projection fans, and FFIQ suits anyone who wants a clear move for their own team before each deadline.

Key takeaways

  1. Decide what you're short of first: time, information, or a second opinion on your own team.
  2. Try the free options before paying anyone. LiveFPL, Scout's free tier and FFIQ's free pages all cost nothing.
  3. Only Fantasy Football Fix and FFIQ list an AI you can chat with about your team.
  4. Never hand over your FPL password. Your team ID is all any tool needs.
  5. Check what each price covers: several are annual billing or limited-time offers.

Your name and your FPL team name. That is all it takes, and we will have your answer before you have finished reading this sentence.

No FPL password, ever. We only read what FPL already publishes.

Start with what you're short of

Fantasy Premier League itself is free to play, so every tool here is something extra on top. The useful question isn't which one is best, but which gap you're trying to fill.

Some managers are short of information: fixtures, price changes, live rank. Some are short of time and want a clear answer on captain and transfers. Others are short of a sounding board and want to ask questions about their own squad. Each tool below is stronger at one of those than the others.

This comparison is as of 25 October 2026, so check prices on the sites themselves before you pay.

Free tools worth trying first

LiveFPL gives you a live rank, leagues, a price predictor, a planner and a ticker for free. It has an optional subscription that removes ads. If your main itch is watching your rank during a gameweek or catching price changes, it's hard to argue with.

Fantasy Football Scout's free tier, Assistant Scout, includes key articles, news, community, basic fixture data and a team rating. Fantasy Football Hub offers a free AI team rating, though you need to give an email address. FPL Review lets you use its free projection model in the planner.

FFIQ's free pages need no account. You get a projection for every player six gameweeks ahead, predicted line-ups, the weekly captain and transfer calls, and a free team rater called FPL Rate My Team.

If you like reading, community and expert voices

Fantasy Football Scout is built around articles, community, a podcast and data tools. Paid membership, Chief Scout, starts from £3.25 a month, billed annually. It suits managers who enjoy the debate and want writers and fellow managers to bounce ideas off.

Fantasy Football Hub describes itself as an AI and expert platform, with AI transfers, a team rating, a planner and podcasts. Its Starter plan is £2.49 a month, billed yearly, which is a 50%-off sale price, so the price may not stay there.

Neither lists an AI chat about your own team. That doesn't mean it isn't coming, only that it isn't listed, so look at the sites if that matters to you.

If you want projections and a planner

FPL Review is about projections, a planner and a transfer solver. Its paid access runs through Patreon. It says no to an AI chat about your team, and it doesn't publish an accuracy figure. It suits managers who like to build their own plan from a model's numbers.

LiveFPL also has a planner and a ticker, and it's free. Between the two, you can cover a lot of planning without paying anything.

A note on accuracy: none of the tools in the comparison table publishes an accuracy figure. FPL Review says it isn't published as a figure, and the others are listed as not published. Treat any claim of accuracy with the same caution, wherever it comes from.

If you want to ask questions about your team

Fantasy Football Fix offers data tools, AI transfers, ChatFPL and articles. You can start with a free account, and Premium is £3.48 a month, billed yearly, which is a limited-time price. ChatFPL is the AI chat in its line-up, so it's a fair option if talking through your squad appeals.

FFIQ has Ask IQ, an AI you can ask anything about your team. It sits alongside projections and a weekly move for your squad, covered below.

One practical point for any of these: FPL publishes every manager's picks only after the deadline passes. Between deadlines, a tool reads the squad FPL last locked, so don't be surprised if a recent change isn't reflected straight away.

Where FFIQ fits

FFIQ is for the manager who wants the move for their own team before every deadline: captain, transfers, chips and line-up, in the War Room. Premium also includes Ask IQ, projected points for every player six gameweeks ahead, your mini-leagues (who's beating you and how to catch them), and price-rise alerts for your players the night before.

It isn't the cheapest option here. Premium is £5.99 a month, which is the Founding Season price, 60% off the standard £14.99, or £59.99 a year. The first month is free, a card is needed, and you can cancel any time. If you only want live rank or price predictions, a free tool will do that for less.

On how the numbers are made, the one thing we'll say is this: every call combines 34 calculations with an algorithm that keeps updating as the scenario changes. FFIQ publishes its record too: picks made before each deadline and scored on FPL's results, misses included. It never asks for your FPL password, and your team ID is enough. A Scout member can run FFIQ alongside their Scout membership.

How to choose without overthinking it

Match the tool to the gap:

  • Want live rank, price predictions and a planner for free: LiveFPL.
  • Want articles, a community and a podcast: Fantasy Football Scout.
  • Want AI transfers and a team rating with expert content: Fantasy Football Hub.
  • Want projections and a solver: FPL Review.
  • Want data tools plus an AI chat: Fantasy Football Fix.
  • Want a ready move for your team each deadline, plus an AI to question: FFIQ.

You can combine them. Many managers pair a free tool with one paid one. To find your team ID, look at the number in the web address of your Points page on the official FPL site. Our full comparison is at /best-fpl-tools/.

Yes. LiveFPL offers live rank, leagues, a price predictor, a planner and a ticker for free, and Scout, Hub, FPL Review and FFIQ all have free options too.

Do I need to give my FPL password to use these tools?

In our comparison, Fantasy Football Fix has ChatFPL and FFIQ has Ask IQ. FPL Review and LiveFPL say no, while Scout and Hub don't list one.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

It's the number in the web address of your Points page on the official FPL site.
