FPL Penalty And Set-Piece Takers 2026/27: The Full List — 7 Aug

The call —The set-piece sheet is out, and one line matters: Chris Wood takes Nottingham Forest's penalties. He costs £6.0m. Fewer than 1 in 50 managers own him. That's the whole story. But let's do the sheet properly. No changes flagged this week — FPL's taker orders are steady across all 20 clubs. Haaland is first on penalties at City, Fernandes runs…
Now filter by ownership, because that's what I do. Haaland: about 7 in 10 own him. Not interesting. Fernandes: nearly 5 in 10. No. Isak at £9.0m is 1 in 7 — the crowd found him already. Palmer and Saka both sit just over 1 in 10, both projected for a solid 4-5 points a week over the next six, both real players. If you want a premium off-template pick, Palmer at £9.5m is the better of the two — first on pens, higher projected points, and Chelsea's attack runs through him.
But Wood is the pick. Our model has him good for roughly 22-23 points over the next six gameweeks — near enough Saka's number at £3.5m less — because he's a starting striker with the penalty job in a side that earns them. On a good week he goes big: a pen plus a goal from open play is a 12-pointer nobody else in your mini-league has. The honest side: if Forest don't win a spot-kick, he's a plain £6.0m forward, and Gibbs-White lurks as second choice. Small edge, real edge.
Two warnings from the sheet. Kroupi Jr holds Bournemouth's pens but is out with a foot injury, no return date. Wright has Coventry's but has a thigh problem, same story. Takers on the treatment table are worth nothing. Leave both alone.
The ledger's been kind to me on cheap penalty takers before. This one goes in it.
The call: buy Wood at £6.0m. If you've got premium money spare, Palmer over Saka. Done.
