Brighton's next six split cleanly down the middle: the attack gets a helping hand, the back line does not.

The read. Our model has Brighton inside the top five attacks in the league and their opening run — Aston Villa at home, Chelsea away, Leeds at home, Coventry away, Arsenal at home, Sunderland away — grades out as a favourable one for scoring. That's where the value sits. Simon Minteh is the standout in our projections: around 22 points over the six games at £6.0m, and owned by well under 1% of managers, which is about as close to a differential as a starting attacker at a good team gets. Danny Welbeck, also £6.0m, is next in line at roughly 19 projected points on 3% ownership, with Gomez at £5.0m a cheaper route into the same attack.

The nuance, and it's a real one. The defence also rates well — our model puts Brighton around the top third for meanness — but the fixture side of the clean-sheet equation is unkind over this stretch. Strong defence, hard opponents: that's why Bart Verbruggen's projection lands near 17 points despite the ratings, and why Lewis Dunk at £4.5m sits at a little under 16. For keepers and defenders the case is clean sheets, not upside, and this window doesn't offer many obvious ones. Verbruggen's 16.8% ownership means he's also not a differential — you'd be paying the going rate for a shutout run our projections don't especially favour. Note too that Minteh and Welbeck occupy the same productive end of the pitch; doubling up is defensible but concentrates your exposure.

One honest caveat: differentials at sub-1% ownership carry rotation risk that no projection fully prices in, and the Chelsea and Arsenal fixtures could swing the six-game total either way.

FPL VERDICT — Buy Minteh (£6.0m). He tops our preference list, leads Brighton's projections and comes at negligible ownership, so the downside is capped and the upside is genuine. Welbeck is the sensible fallback at the same price if you want the more established name. Hold Verbruggen if you already own him; he's a fine cheap keeper long-term, but this isn't the window to buy in. Dunk is a watch, not a buy.
