Arsenal's opening six look kind for goals — but the clean sheets may be harder work than the price tags suggest.

The read. Our model rates Arsenal as the strongest attack in the league over the first six gameweeks, and the fixture run backs it up: Coventry at home, Aston Villa away, Chelsea at home, then Sunderland away, Brighton away and Leeds at home. That's a very kind sequence for attacking returns. Defensively the picture is strong too — top-five in the league by our projections — though the same six fixtures grade out as merely average for shutouts.

Gabriel is the model's clear top pick here. At £8.0m he's a premium defender, but he leads our Arsenal projections with roughly 22–23 points across the six, and at just over a quarter ownership he's more of a template hold than a differential. Raya at £6.0m is the goalkeeper equivalent: around 16 points projected, owned by close to 30%, and valued purely on shutout odds rather than upside.

In midfield, the interesting names are the cheap ones. Eze and Ødegaard both come in at £6.5m with projections in the low twenties — essentially level with Gabriel — yet both sit near 3% ownership. That's the genuine differential angle in this squad. Gyökeres, at £7.5m and 14% owned, projects lower over the window, around 16 points.

The nuance. Don't read "elite attack" as "guaranteed clean sheets." Our defensive outlook is only middling across these six, and that matters for how you value Gabriel and Raya: you're paying £8.0m and £6.0m for a solid but not exceptional shutout run, with Gabriel's edge coming from what a centre-back at that price can add at the other end. Equally, the low ownership on Eze and Ødegaard is a warning as much as an opportunity — minutes in a crowded, rotating Arsenal midfield are the risk you're taking on, and our model prefers Eze marginally.

FPL VERDICT. Buy Gabriel — he's the model's preferred Arsenal asset, and the price is justified by the fixture run. Watch Eze and Ødegaard closely: at £6.5m with barely 3% ownership and comparable projected returns, either is a low-cost route into this attack if you're comfortable with the rotation risk. Hold Raya if you own him rather than paying up now. Gyökeres is a watch, not a buy, at £7.5m.
